What has been a defining moment in your career?
I think the defining moments have been meeting legends of the sport such as Usain Bolt, Caster Semenya, Christian Coleman, Haile Gebresilassie, Kenenisa Bekele and many other Ethiopian legends. I love that my job allows me to interact with such incredible people and athletes.
What was the first thought that went through your mind when you heard the Tokyo Olympics had been postponed?
I felt devastated but had to accept the seriousness of the situation.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I would say travelling. I always want to travel and attend international sport events as much as I can.
Which superpower would you like to have?
I don’t believe in superpowers. Rather, I believe in hard work, and a bit of luck, and I feel I have both of them.
When under pressure, what do you say to yourself to help you get through it?
Don’t give up.
What three things you would take with you if you were to be stranded on a desert island for a year?
I would take my Bible, sport training equipment and a first aid kit.
