Q&A WITH… ZAYNAB DOSSO

Country: Italy

Profession: Athlete – 100m

Career highlights:

  • 2022 World Indoor Championships team
  • 2020 Olympian 2020 – 4x100m
  • 2x National Champion
  • 2x U23 National Champion
  • National Indoor record – 7.14

Congratulations on your two national titles, can you tell us what is the last thing that goes through your mind as you stare down the track before your start?

What goes through my head while staring at the track is: don’t think too much and let my body do what it can do, that is run.

What is the most technical part of the 100m for you?

In my opinion, the most important technical part of a 100m is the last 20m because they are very difficult to manage, but that’s the part of the race that makes the difference.

What was the WORST advice you have ever received?

The worst advice I received was from a school teacher who told me that I should focus much more on studying and not athletics because it wouldn’t take me anywhere. And today I would like to tell her that she was wrong because I’m the fastest woman in Italy, with the national record in 60m and I would say that being also focused on sport gave me so many experiences.

What movie can you watch over and over again?

It’s not a movie, rather a TV series. I’ve been watching The Fresh Prince of Bel’Air for at least 10 years now, even the evenings before my races!
